Aunt Happy's Roux

Waiting patiently for a slice of apple. Poor ole Roux. His insulin shoot got blown that morning, so he spent most of the day drinking water. I'm sure he was better the next day... What a blessing that dog has been.

I don't know why I haven't planned a vacation to SantaFe. Judy and Don used to live there, but I was so young that I don't really remember that. But I would love to spend enough time there to really feel like I've seen it.
Perhaps a week there would be enough. Something about Northern New Mexico. It is almost a spiritual experience.

We stopped for lunch at The Shed. The salad I had was wonderful.

Molas Pass

Silverton, Colorado

If you've ever been to Silverton, you've probably seen these trucks. I think I have taken photos of them every time I've been. They are on the side street that leads up to the little ski area. It's easy to envision Silverton as it was. Today it is colorful and full of folks traveling the million dollar highway. If you haven't made that drive.... well you really need to.

Grand Mesa

On our drive from Montrose to Carbondale, we stopped at a little orchard/vineyard. We bought some fresh peaches and tasted a few wines. The place was beautiful. I would like to return to Montrose and visit my cousin Mark. We missed him this trip.

The Patio

It has been a hot, hot summer. But when you get up first thing in the morning, take your coffee and the newspaper out there. Ahhhh.... it's just so nice. Since these photos were snapped, we busted out the bedroom window and installed garden doors. So there are always gonna be projects. Mother once told me.. You never "FINISH" a home. It will always be evolving, growing, changing. There are plenty of things on the inside that need done. But at least when they get to be overwhelming, I can go outside.

Our Summer Vacation

Well, vacation....not exactly. We had been wanting to redo our patio for many years. Other things came first. We had to close in the garage and make a little apartment for my father-in-law. That was complete, and he was moved in on Thanksgiving weekend. So when Phil's concrete company got a break this summer, we had them start on the patio. I don't think the plan was to have the driveway done at the same time, but that happened too.
