Christmas

We had a game night on Christmas with Sandra, Nate, and Nicole. We were all astounded that Paul not only enjoyed it...but won! Of course he couldn't help but act out the words like charades. What ever it takes to make someone laugh.

Sunny Day

JaiceyBelle spent the night with us last night while her mommy is knee deep in the moving process. We enjoyed a sunny Winter day in Texas. Jaicey played on her brand new tricycle and harvested Mountain Laural seeds for a good hour or two. Now I know what you are thinking. Grammy was gonna do the bandana in a hip Do_Rag style... but Jaicey insisted on having it tied under her chin. She has a cute new hair cut, but Grammy didn't take the time to fix it this morning, just to play outside.

Horns

I recently photographed a whole herd of these beautiful animals just outside Valley Mills. But this particular Longhorn was found on my way home from a weekend in Buffalo Gap last year.

Long Lost Neighbors

My very best neighbor came to visit me today. Dave and Mel moved up to the UP of Michigan about three years ago, and the ole neighborhood just hasn't been the same. We shared so much together in the years they lived on Texas Ave. Ashley and Bo were just toddlers when they bought the house the Bukowski used to own. Manda and Raina were both born here. Of all the things I miss most about them living across the street.... Me and Mel just sitting in the drive way talking...with kids running everywhere.

New Day

I lay in bed this morning looking out at the silhouette of trees outside my window. The sky had a spooky white glow. As I lay there, the color began to change. It remained the thick, buttery texture, but now it was orange. Paul was busy in the kitchen making coffee and retrieving the morning paper. When he came inside he called me to come look at the clouds directly over the house. They were amazing. I'm sure my little camera will do them no justice, but I did manage to snap a photo or two. (to post later). Now as I sit typing with my hot cup of coffee at my side, I can hear the rumble of thunder. I love morning like this.

I began painting again. I hadn't been able to paint since I got my new hip. Don't know why...just scared it had disappeared as fast as it came. I managed to get a doggie portrait done. A commissioned piece for her son's Christmas present. Started another little cowboy after that. Having switched computers, I don't have the cable I need to down load photos at the moment... so you will have to wait.

Thursday will be my last day of blood thinners, and Hillcrest Home Health. I'm thinking I might be going back to work then. I am able bodied. Just using the walker to maintain my 50% weight bearing. Hard to do. Getting in bed is still the most difficult thing on my daily routine. But I am a master a using my lasso to lift the ole leg. I think I could drive....but I will follow the doctors instructions, so that everything is perfect.

There is a missing client at MHMR. He is a middle aged man. He wondered away from the group home three days ago. It has been really cold at night and everyone is quite worried. Please keep him in your prayers.

New Addition

My grandnephew finally made his debut this morning at about 5 am Texas time. Casey had been in labor since about 11:30 but decided to let Steven sleep. When she finally called in the troups, things were getting pretty intense. Samuel Aiden Bertrand was born fifteen minutes after they got to the hospital. He weighed in at 8lbs 5oz and was just under 21 inches long.
