In Jesus' Name

In an effort to teach JaiceyBelle that she doesn't need medicine, or bandaid for every booboo, Lacey has been teaching her to pray over it. "In Jesus' name I'm healed" or  "Thank you Jesus for making it better". So today, she fell down and wanted a bandage for a small ouchie. Lacey said, JC, why don't you pray over it, to which my precious Grandbaby said: "In JESUS NAME, I NEED A BAND AID!"

Brooke was home for the holiday. She stopped by and visited with us for about twenty minutes on Saturday. Guilt trip, Me... never.

Dieing of the Eggs

Saturday afternoon in Waco was beautiful. The sun was warm and the wind was not blowing. We decided to take our egg dieing outside to the picnic table. Lacey, Kris, and Aunt Becky helped JaiceyBelle and I. This process seems a lot easier as a Grammy. Not sure if it's the improvements in Easter Egg die... or just the patience you earn.
The die came with Seasame Street stickers. JC put them all on one egg. She had a vision of what she wanted and went with it.

Easter Bird Nests

Aunt Becky needed someone to put malted milk eggs in her nests. I think JaieyBelle ate as many as she put in the nests.
The memories are all in the making. . . aren't they.

Dick and Jane Big Book

Years ago, about 1973...or 74, I found a bunch of "Fun with Dick and Jane" 19 x 22 pages in a trash can. That was my first grade reader, plus I thought the water colors were just precious and have kept them for years. Hung a few in my baby's rooms.
I've now discovered that they might be "collectables". So if any of you know someone that collects "Dick and Jane" tell them to give me a call. I might be willing to part with them.

The Ides of March

Saturday Night, we got together with some of our good friends to celebrate St. Patrick's Day. One of our ole rugby buddies, Nelson Rue, owns a little place downtown that he rents out for events. Every year he has Rex Warren (http://www.rexwarren.com/) a fellow New Mexican come and play for St. Paddy's day.

The night was beautiful. Our group always ended up out back. (We love the music, but we would rather talk than dance.) We stayed up way past our bedtime, but enjoyed the night thoroughly.

SUMMER?

Okay, so my last post was a photo of snow on the the van. Yesterday it was 90. Today is another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Paul and I got out this morning and ran around doing some errands. Had to shed the sweater around 9:00. Looking forward to going to Nelson's tonight to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with friends.
Speaking of St. Patrick's Day, that happens to be Harrison Stewart's birthday. He left or Afganistan yesterday. Please mention his safety in your prayers tonight, along with all the soldiers in harms way.

Snow

It snowed in Waco friday morning. Not much... but it counts. Of course it was back up in the high sixties by the next day.

Becky's New Car

Friday Becky took delivery of her brand "SPANKIN" new Nissan Altima. That Sonoma Red sure looks pretty in the sun.

Bonanza

A few weeks ago I was watching Antique Roadshow when someone inquired about their autographed photos of the cast of Bonanza. According to the expert the most prized photo was the one of Dan Blocker. He unfortuately was not around as long as the other actors, dieing before his time. I immediately called Becky, knowing that she and I both had photos of Dan Blocker. Becky's dad, Mike, was grew up in the same small town and was buddies with the man that would become Hoss Cartwright.

Today, Becky brought by a couple of photocopies she made while at home the last trip. The first photo was of Mike Burns, Dan Blocker, two police officers... and... wait a minute... i think I know that person... Yep. That's my dad squeezing in the picture. I'd know that jewelry anywhere. Keep in mind that was 1967. Wearing that much jewelry back then.. .he must have stuck out like a sore thumb. But he did make it all, so it was cool.
