Aggieland

 
Paul, Bo and I used my friend Davin's tickets, and went to our first Aggie game. They were hosting Baylor. It was amazing. I don't know if you've ever been to an Aggie event, but it is something to see. The flyovers give you chill bumps. There were over 82,000 people. All dressed in maroon. We didn't start out in maroon. But it was a NOON game, and I didn't wear a hat or sunscreen.....so by the end of the game, I was just a maroon as the rest of them. This photo was taken before the game started. The stands filled up. It was shoulder to shoulder. We were sitting in the Alumni section, so the did sit down occasionally.

Exploring

 
Our family has always enjoyed our time at the creek. Exploring. This was JaiceyBelle's first trip. She had such a good time. There were millions of teeny tiny little frogs, and minnows. We found a new place and it was beautiful. A little slippery in places...but so clear. Brooke caught a catfish with her hands, and we made it home with several minnows for the aquarium.

Water Level

 
Just wanted you guys to see how high the water got this spring. Both of these bridges were under water. I don't know how far under... but the road was closed.

JaiceyBelle Heaven

 
Luis and Elfie's backyard is a kid's heaven. All sorts of toys they have for their grand daughters Isabelle and Lillian. There were plenty of kids to play with and plenty of running room.

Three Generations

 
Sometimes, you don't realize the depth of the photo until you get it home an on the computer. I love that this caught not only Carlos and his grandmother, but Luis in the background. We are blessed to have been having this kind of celebration. Our hearts go out to the families whose boys didn't come back from Iraq.

NOTICE: New Link

To those of you that frequent my blog, you might have already noticed the new link. The Almaguer Family has been part of our family since Lacey and Carlos were in Jr. High. Actually before that Luis and I had gotten to know each other downtown when he was on bike patrol. Then later we found out that the kids called each other "Bubba" and Sis at school. We have watched them play soccer together and just grow up. My kids call him their brother. (can you tell we love this kid?)

On September 11, Carlos came home from Iraq. He had actually been out of Iraq for awhile, but we had not seen him, so until you can get your hands around them, you really can't feel at ease. He came over on the 12th and sat with me for a while. Telling me all the details. I'm afraid that Bo asked way too many question. And came away with "that doesn't sound so scary" from the conversation. Believe me, I have told him "only got shot at once" ISN'T, what a momma wants. I can't even imagine how hard this has been on Elfida.

By Day...a cashier

 
Lacey is a busy girl. She is working fulltime at Office Max. Taking a full load at McLennan Community College, studing and taking care of JaiceyBelle and Kris in her spare waking moments. This morning Lacey had studied till 1:00 a.m., then JC got up around 3:00 and colored herself with a red MarksALot before Lacey could get in there. Me... well I'm laughing. Have a ball watching the payback.

Football Season (woohoo)

 
Yep, there is Bo. Front and "Center". Just like I taught him. Must be doing it my way, cause he doesn't seem to be doing it Dad's way. (arg) I think he's the best. Perhaps I have the better vision when it comes to over looking a few blocks that didn't "maintain contact". Hey, I also don't have a problem with him helping the other guy up, but I guess that is a big "faux paux"

Proud Moment

 
Those of you that know me well, know that this is a triumph. I have been waiting on my bathroom to be finished for over a year. Well it still lacks some finishing touches, but the shower is usable and the toilet is working. The sheetrock needs taping and floating, and texturing. I haven't decided on paint color...but the tile is perfect.

New Bedding

 
When I get a bed frame, paint the walls, tape and float the sheet rock, etc, etc... I'll be through with the bedroom. But I'm really proud of my $39 dollar bedding. Check out the first of my "Place Mat" pillows. $3.50 for the place mat, and a couple of bucks for the fiber fill. Sure does beat that $179 dollar pillow I saw at Spice.
