Weekend Update

Sometimes it is just good to see how the other guys live. This photo was taken on a little boat that costs a lot more than my house. We went to visit Brooke in Corpus Christi this weekend and they were having their big BOAT SHOW on the WATER.

Asa and Wendy Visit

What a lovely day for a picnic. Or just trailmix on the picnic table. Wendy and Asa came down for a visit before they head to Fairbanks. Brian is already there and working, but it will take a while for the house to be ready, so they are spending the limbo time in Texas. We had such a pleasant day.

April 19th at the Park

Years ago I went to visit my sister in North Carolina. She was making face jugs. Turned pottery with faces sculpted out of clay on the side. She took a photo of my face between two of those jugs. When I saw this photo, it made me laugh. Looks just like that photo.

Lacey - HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Lacey turns 23 today. Can you imagine? Some things never change though. As seen in this photo, she is still completely mesmerized by crawly things. She trys her best to get JaiceyBelle interested, but JC doesn't want to have anything to do with "creatures".


On April 19, 1985 I woke up too early, and thought to myself... I shouldn't have eaten at El Chico last night. I called my sister and asked her what labor felt like, then I took a bath and went back to bed. Woke to the sound of my sister and neighbor pounding on my door. They were afraid I was delivering in the apartment I guess.
They took me to see Dr. Lewis, who upon examination said, "go check in, you're are in labor." He said he would come check on me after he went to a luncheon. He didn't even have time to pull on his little blue booties and catchers mit. She hasn't slowed down since. REALLY.
Lacey is going to school fulltime, working fulltime at Office Max managing the Impress Center, married and raising the world's smartest two year old.

JaiceyBelle is happy for hours in her make believe kitchen. She found a piece of PVC that she was using as a cooking pot, all the little flower buds, china berries, and acorns make a very nice stew.

My sweet Aunt Happy. Still diggin' in her 90's. This was taken earlier this month, as she was getting read to set a new trellis for her roses to climb.

Everyone is still alive.

Well, we had quite a week. Paul got a blood infection and spent the week getting massive doses of anitbiotics. Those of you that know him, will understand the seriousness when I tell you that he didn't go to work all week. But he has turned the corner, and God willing, all is healed. I on the other hand I just crawled out of bed, from a self induced coma. My nephew Josh's surprise 30th birthday was last night. Keirschen and I got a little crazy. What you gonna do when the band starts singing Neil Diamond? I wish I had pictures of the event... but then again, perhaps no evidence is best. My nephew's grand parents from Portales were there, and James (Jesus) my nephew from Houston.

More Grandma Talk

This time it was my sister with the cute Grandbaby story...

JaiceyBelle's twin cousins (well almost), Riley and Tyler live in Houston and are just about the same age. Riley knows that Abraham Lincoln is on the penny. When asked who was on the nickel she told them "George Washingmachine".
