Bo Turns 13

 

Bukowski Family Bowl. For his birthday, Bo wanted to have a family get together, so we had a few chicken wings at Buffalo Wild Wings, and then to the lanes. With Paul's torn rotator cuff, and my hip, we have didn't participate, but it is still fun. His Aunt Becky gave him a give card to Hastings, and Mom and Dad bought him a bike and some shoes. (school shoes and football cleats)

Happy Anniversary Baby

Paul and I celebrated our 14th Anniversary this evening. We at Mexican food till we were miserable. His Aunt Peggy was here visiting his Dad, so we went to Casa de Castillo with them and Phil and Terry.
He worked out in the sun all day, so he came home and got horizontal. Bo and I are watching House. Next big day this week will be on Saturday when Bo turns 13.

Everything's Bigger in Texas

 
This should dispell and notion that Texans exagerate.
Paul and I had quite the busy morning. We visited the Restore and found an old lav for him to use as a bird bath. Two boxes of mosaic tile for my sisters and some handles for my bathroom cabinets. Paul also found a B-O-X of sprinkler heads. Made a deal on the whole 75 heads. We dropped by Lacey's to drop off the edger and weedeater. She had mowed and desperatly needed to do the detailing. She makes me prowd sometimes. While I wish she had a helpmate that would pitch in, she is learning to appreciate the pay-off of yard work.

When your feet hurt....

 
Sometimes, when your feet hurt, you just need to soak them.
We managed to make it home from our trip South in one piece and more importantly completely dry. Bo and I drove back this morning after a relaxing, beautiful evening at Christi and Gary's in the Texas Hill Country. Wonder what the rest of the world was doing this morning while we sat on the big ole' porch with a cup of coffee, watching the two fawns play in the wet grass. I have had "Girl Vacations" with the girls, but this was a Bo trip. Although the water turned out to be too high to go tubing, we had fun. A day at the "Cave with no name" and one at Fiesta Texas with Sandra, Nate and Nicole. Then a day in San Antonio with a trip to the IMAX theatre and Natural Bridges Wildlife park.
We had to turn around twice on the way home, when we encountered roads that were flooded by the Leon River. At one point it was almost half mile across. I believe Mother Neff State Park was under there.

I had this picture on my blog earlier... but wanted you to know that this particular bridge is now under several feet of water.

No rain again today

 
We had another dry day... YES! Never thought I would be saying that. The temperature was nice and the breeze today was welcome. The picture is of the Brazos River. It is above normal, as seen her the hand rails to the walk-way down to the riverwalk are under water.

Yesterday at my house

 
We dodge a rain storm yesterday. Thank goodness. Bo mowed twice this week.
