Monday Night

Monday night I went by and visited Marvin in the nursing home/rehab facility. He is doing quite nicely. They removed his "vacumn pack" that was assisting the closing of his incision. The wound must be almost healed. He is walking more and more each day, and that will be what determines when he gets to leave. I wish my family/friends were closer so that we could jump in and close the garage up in a week, It would make a nice option for Marvin. I wish Brian Harris and D. Dalley owed me for something? We have made progress. The laundry room walls are framed. The termite damaged boards have been replaced. Money as always will be what slows this progress.
ANYWAY... on my way home from the visit, there was the most amazing sunset. I was just trapped in neighborhoods with lots of trees. When I finally got almost clear I snapped this through the windshield. I decided I liked all the lights and business going on.

Tuesday Night - Sunset

Tuesday Logan and I, along with her friend Laramie, drove to West, Texas to visit a little wedding dress. On the way back to Waco, (without stopping for a kolache) we witnessed a beautiful sunset. It wasn't quite as nice as Monday's, but really whose grading?

Dahlias

My dad loved to grow flowers. He would grow things on his place that most people in out little corner of the desert southwest had never laid eyes on. He would bring home seeds and flowers from vacations, like most bring home curios. I'm not sure if these Dahlias are his... but they are on our corner, so chances are.

My sister Jany didn't like me very much when we were little. Seems she had been the baby for 8 years, and here I came and ruined it all. But here, in this photo... she is holding my hand. I just LOVE this picture. I tried to see if she was digging her fingernails into my precious little hand...but it I don't look like I'm in pain.

Smokey is my HomeBoy!

That's right. I'm from New Mexico. Home of Smokey the Bear. The real Smokey the Bear is my home boy! Remember, Only YOU can prevent forest fires.

Elisa's Cat

First thing I have painted in a long long time. I was a little timid about it, but at least I did it. I read on someone's watercolor website once that one bad confident stroke was better than a perfectly placed timid one. I try to remember that. I did something on this one I haven't done before. I painted the background last night and hated it. So I washed it off this morning and started over. So here is Budha. My college buddy, Scodro's cat.

Time Flys

Friday night on the suspension bridge in Waco, Texas, a nice young man got on one knee and asked my baby daughter to marry him. How can it be possible? Can she really be old enough to get married? Paul and I were aware that this was happening, as Philip had asked permission. Yes, some young men still do that. I don't know if it was his idea, or if Logan told him it was a necessity, but it sure was nice.
I wish I had some profound words of wisdom to impart, but I'm not sure kids listen to parents advise anyway. I pray that they will be blessed.
