The pen may be mightier than the sword, but it's difficult to stop a home invasion with a Sharpie.

The Twins
Gretchen, I thought you might want an update on my nephews twins. The following is from the latest email.
We just put Riley down for a nap and as she'll do occasionally she
started wailing. All I could make out was "monsters" and "scared" which she pronounces "skeeert". I calmly explained to her that Ricky our cat, who had just come into the bedroom at that time, was there and that Ricky would
scare away the monsters. I tried to use words that she'd understand in explaining this. Ricky would "bite" the monsters and the monsters would "cry." I could tell from her big brown eyes that she was really thinking through this. Ricky had come over and was standing next to the pack and play, so I told him to "stay here and watch for monsters." I guess Riley accepted that because as I left the room I only heard one more quiet whimper. Hopefully she's sound asleep now.
Also, Tyler's vision therapist just left and feels that Tyler's vision is great and doesn't figure she'll even need to see a vision therapist anymore. Tyler's newest trick is giving kisses. If you ask for one, and make a kissing sound, she'll lean in and touch her mouth to yours. Unfortunately she tends to stick her tongue out when she does this, but beggars can't be choosers.
